Information About Your Computer
- Maximum Points: 20
- Due Date: February 6, 2012
- Introduction:
- Install (if necessary) utility software and gather information about your computer system.
- Procedures:
- Download SiSoftware's SANDRA (System ANalyser, Diagnostic, and Reporting Assistant) Lite from the Internet for the latest version, or you can use CPU-Z or like program.
- Install the program if necessary
- If you do not have a computer then you will have to do this on someone else's computer (friend, relative, etc.) - you cannot install it on a lab computer
- Run the various modules to obtain the information needed for your Summary Sheet (see below).
- Copy your results so that you can print them out.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Attach a cover sheet to the above printout as the first page of your report
- Your Name
- Course Number
- Date
- Attach a Summary Sheet after the cover sheet and before your printouts with the following information on it
- Manufacturer & Model Number
- Processor Name & Speed
- L2 On-board Cache
- System BIOS
- System Chipset
- Front-side Bus Speed Data Rate
- Installed Memory & Type
- Operating System
- Video Adapter & Memory
- Hard Drive Manufacturer & Size
- Highlight the above information on your printout (use a colored highlighter) to show where you got the information
- Attach a cover sheet to the above printout as the first page of your report
- Grading Standards:
- 10 points will be deducted for missing printout
- 5 points will be deducted for not highlighting the required items
- 2 points will be deducted for any missing item on the summary sheet
