Troubleshooting

- Procedures:
- This lab will be conducted over several class sessions and you will be given lab time to work on your assignment.
- This is NOT a group assignment. Each student must do their own assignment.
- Decide what device you want to troubleshoot. Examples are: video system, printing problem, motherboard problem.
- Develop a flowchart to show how you would troubleshoot the problem.
- If "Yes" follow a certain path, if "No" follow a different path.

- Free on-line diagram maker: www.gliffy.com.
- Do your own work. Do not copy one from the Internet.
- If "Yes" follow a certain path, if "No" follow a different path.
- Be very detailed.
- Remember you are the technical support/help desk. You must come up with a solution to the problem.
- If you get to the point to "Replace the part/device", then after the part/device would be replaced, you need to show to start at the beginning of the flowchart to verify everything is working correctly.
- Attach your flowchart to a coversheet.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Your instructor should be able to follow your flowchart to troubleshoot the problem.
- Grading Standards:
- 5 points will be deducted for steps in your flowchart that are hard to follow or incomplete.
